The concept of the logo of Knowledge Solutions Group portrays an interesting combination of Human, Nature, Geometric and Philosophical ideas.

The letters K-S-G, drawn in a specially designed font depicts the synapses of the human brain.

THE SYNAPSE: Since neurons in the brain form a network of electrical activities, they somehow have to be interconnected. This connection is not a simple continuity of cytoplasm, so that every neuron has electrical continuity with all others, as happens with simple wiring, but is carried out by very specialized and complex structures called synapses. A synapse is the place where two neurons join in such a way that a signal can be transmitted from one to the other. The typical and overwhelmingly most abundant type of synapse is the one in which the axon of one neuron activates a second neuron, usually making a synapse with one of its dendrites or with the cell body.

The importance of connections has now been recognized by scientists attempting to construct computational models of brain function. Artificial Intelligence scientists initially used serial processing models. However they soon realized that although these models solved many problems rather well, including such difficult tasks as playing chess, they performed poorly and slowly on other computations that the brain does rapidly and well, such as the immediate recognition of complex visual stimuli (like faces) and the rapid comprehension of speech. As a result these modelers have turned from serial systems to parallel distributed systems called connectionistic models. Results obtained from these models are consistent with physiological studies, and illustrate that individual elements do not transmit large amounts of information. It is the connections between many elements, not their individual contribution, which make complex information processing possible.

Thus synapses are thus most important entities for Human Intelligence and thereby Human Knowledge - which is depicted in our logo.

The logo is lain over a 3 by 3 square grid, which allows the re-configuration of the letters and red squares in various formations but maintains the theme of the basic logo and therefore, the identity of KSG.

The red squares are taken from architect Frank Lloyd Wright's signature red squares which depict geometric and visual stability of forms. In the context of this logo, the red squares depict stability and optimality of a solution.

A solution is a compromise; we can produce the best with what we have. The letters KSG are configured along with the red squares within the 3 by 3 square grid. The "Solution" is portrayed in the true sense. It also depicts "Optimization" by allowing us to re-configure the letters and red squares as necessary for the environment.
